So What 2014 Was Wonderful. So What it Was Wretched. So NOW What?

For those of you who follow me on my various social media sites, you probably know that my life is basically a roller coaster ride with some extreme highs and some extreme lows.

2014 was no exception.

This was my first full year being self-employed. Sounds great, right? Well, it has been a blessing to be able to pursue what I believe God has given me as an assignment. And God has been the one sustaining me – emotionally, mentally, and financially.  I’m thankful for the decisions I made early in my career to save and invest as that has helped me pay my bills and build my business.  I constantly remind myself that the first few years are the make or break years, and I am determined to make it (although at times I consider the healthy salary I could earn in corporate now). But I stay the course because lives are more important than money, and the money will come.

But this has been a transition year to say the least.

2014 was also the year that my son became a teen father, and I became a grandmother at 34 years old. When I found out about the pregnancy, I was disappointed and hurt. I questioned all the effort I had put into teaching my son, and I questioned if I was on the wrong path with my business. How could I help the teen pregnancy issues in the world if I couldn’t even prevent it in my own home?  But I have learned so much from this experience of helping my son and his girlfriend that I now use to help others. And, best of all, I have the funniest and most beautiful granddaughter I could ever imagine, and God saw fit to make her look like me, her Sunshine.

A lot more happened in my life in 2014, and I’ll use the lessons from those highs and lows to help me in 2015. I expect unbelievable, mind-blowing things to happen for me, my family and my businesses.

What happened to you in 2014? Was it good? Was it bad?

S.O. What!

If it was good, it can be better. If it was bad, it can be better.

What lessons did you learn from it, and how will you use those lessons to help yourself and others?

A new year is only hours away, So NOW What are you going to do to make it a great year for you?

Happy New Year!
